Aging in Place & ADA Design
Many people are choosing to stay in their homes as they get older, and it can be a wonderful option as long as it is done safely. As a Certified Aging in Place Specialist, I assist homeowners through the planning and preparation process, with everything from individual home assessments to designing accessible spaces.
Color Consultation (Interior/Exterior)
I firmly believe that there is no such thing as a bad color, there are just colors that are wrong for a particular space. From family rooms to front doors, my holistic approach to color helps my clients to find the perfect hues for the interior and exterior of their homes.
Project Management
Anyone whose home has undergone a major renovation can tell you that coordinating with the various contractors and subcontractors can sometimes feel like a parttime job, and that trying to speak the lingo can feel like learning a foreign language, I act as the homeowner’s liaison to help streamline communication, simplify decision making, and ensure that a job runs smoothly, on time, and on budget.
Kitchen & Bath Design
Remodeling a kitchen or bathroom is an investment of time, money, and energy and, and what starts out as fun for many homeowners can quickly become overwhelming. Working with a designer can help to ease that decision fatigue and ensure a finished product that exceeds expectations. From mini-makeovers to full blown demos, I assist my clients with everything from planning cabinetry layouts to selecting bathroom towel bars.
Pre-Homebuying/Selling Consultation
Preparing to put a house on the market can be an emotional experience, and and being told to make changes to a beloved home can make it even harder. I provide home sellers with professional advice while being sensitive to the feelings involved in the process. Conversely, buying a home in a competitive market can be just as stressful, which can make it difficult to see the potential in a perspective home. I help homebuyers to envision the possibilities and practicalities of homes that they are considering. Whether buying or selling, I strive to help reduce the stress and uncertainty of the process.
Space Planning
Three of the main goals of interior design are creating spaces that are beautiful, comfortable, and functional for the people that use them. Unfortunately the comfort and functionality pieces often fall by the wayside because they can be a lot more difficult to figure out. Fortunately, I love the challenge of figuring out what works best for my clients and the way that they live! Whether it’s finding an ideal place for a TV or breaking up a large room into multiple seating zones, I assist clients in planning the layout of their spaces so that they are as comfortable and functional to live in as they are beautiful to look at!
New Construction Consultation & Design
Architects and Interior Designers are like peanut butter and jelly, great apart but even better together! When undertaking a project as extensive as building a new home (or undergoing a major remodel) working with both an architect and an interior designer ensures that every detail of your home’s interior and exterior are considered. As an interior specialist, it is just as important for me to correctly plan the placement of outlets and the swing of doors as it is to select the the perfect finish for the cabinets and colors for the walls.
